Milenio Sports agrees Wales VS Republic of Ireland International Friendly for 14th August 2013
Following successful negotiations Football Association of Wales, Football Association of Ireland and Milenio Sports Management have reached agreement for a friendly International fixture where Wales (FIFA Rank 71) will play Republic of Ireland (FIFA Rank 40) in Cardiff City Stadium on August 14th 2013.
This will be the first time both countries have played in Cardiff since November 2007 when they played out an exciting 2-2 draw with Wales coming from behind to secure a draw in UEFA Euro 2008 group D qualification fixture.
The most recent meeting between Wales and Republic of Ireland was in February 2011 when Republic of Ireland ran out 3-0 winners in the inaugural Carling Nations Trophy in Dublin, a tournament which Republic of Ireland went on to win and was pivotal to momentum in their successful qualification fixtures which followed leading them to a place in UEFA Euro 2012 finals in Poland-Ukraine.
