Sweden and Republic of Ireland complete U19 2003s double header in Marbella with 1-1 draw

Republic of Ireland and Sweden shared the spoils in an exciting 1-1 draw this afternoon at Dama de Noche Football Centre in Marbella with a lovely finish from Aidomo Emakhu cancelling out an earlier strike from
Sweden´s Jusef Arabi. This match followed a 2-2 draw 3 days earlier and also at Dama de Noche Football Centre where first half goals from Zak Gilsenan and Evan Caffrey gave Ireland a great 2-0 lead at Half Time only
for an excellent 2nd half comeback from Sweden with goals from Ahmed Quasem and Arah Motaraghebjafarpour bringing Sweden back in the game. Cristiano Fitzgerald almost won it in the dying moments for Ireland
following a lovely run from midfield but his shot was narrowly batted wide by the Swedish GK.

For Republic of Ireland U19 this represented their first matches in over 650 days since November 2019 UEFA U19 Elite Round. We wish both Sweden and Ireland every success in their
UEFA U19 Qualification rounds in Sweden and Bulgaria respectively.
