Belarus defeat Republic of Ireland 2-1 in Cork in final pre UEFA Euro 2016 friendly match for Rep of Ireland

Belarus ensured only a second defeat in the last 14 games for UEFA Euro 2016 finalists Republic of Ireland with a 2-1 victory over Martin O'Neill's men at Turners Cross Stadium Cork. This was only the 5th time Republic of Ireland have played outside of Dublin and the packed Turners Cross Stadium were hoping to see Republic of Ireland end their pre UEFA Euro 2016 friendly matches on a high but goals from Mikhail Hardzeichuk and Maxim Valadzko left Ireland trailing 2-0 after 63 minutes and while a well taken goal from Stephen Ward reduced the deficit, Belarus held on to record a famous win.
